[III:1-18 – After Otto marries Adelheid of Italy, his son Liudolf rebels, and is besieged in Mainz, into which Ekbert is sent as a hostage]
[III:19 – Ekbert rebels]
[III:20-22 – The Bavarians join the rebellion against Otto]
[III.23-25 – Wichmann rebels and joins Ekbert]
[III.26-28 – Otto campaigns in Bavaria and returns to Saxony with the rebellion still raging]
[III:29 – Wichmann judged and imprisoned]
[III.30-40 – The Hungarians enter the war, and the war concludes as all parties are reconciled to Otto]
[III.41-49 – Otto is victorious at the Battle of Lechfeld]
[III:50-55 – Wichmann's second rebellion; the Battle on the Raxa; flight to Gaul]
